Conduction

Conduction; the transfer of heat energy from one molecule to another by direct contact. 

Conduction aims to explore the ways in which emotion manipulates space, and bodies spaces, through experimentation with contact and movement, intimacy and distance, and fluidity and structure, within the physical space and the energetic container of relationships. 

Using contact improv and experimental dance as our primary modality, we will interpret the process of Conduction as our framework for entering into contact each day, with the intention of exploring how different emotions and states of being occupy different qualities and quantities of space. How then, do we navigate our emotions from a place of authenticity? How can we show up in truth, without allowing our emotions to overpower our space? How does the way we process emotion affect the space around us, both physically and energetically?

Taylor and Robert will be Artists in residence November 2023 where they will enter the Conduction space in preparation for a series of exhibitions in galleries across Japan.
